Actually, in the case of the Lone Pine Quake...I was thinking of water. Los Angeles sucks a lot of its water from the valley there, and a break in those installations or major land movements would cause a real mess.

You're right about the population, though. Lone Pine and Big Pine aren't exactly metropoli!
