The problem with Borrego Springs

Hi Luke,

Appreciate your response. That Borrego region is a nightmare to try and out- guess for earthquakes of any size. The whole area is very complex, especially the stratigraphics and the various ages of the infill there. I think my best chance is to keep watching the depths of micros along the San Jacinto, or maybe some radical creep along the SAF or Superstitians. What I do watch the most is the depth of micros around the Anza Gap. That MIGHT supply a give away to the next larger quake. Also, I have noticed that when the San Bernardino structural knot gets active, I usually see some smaller quakes down around Indio. The western margin of the the Salton Trough has been kind of haywire lateley, so is of no real help....No sure if stress there is building or relieving. I'm not old enough to know. Nor shall I ever be old enough to know. So the guess work goes on....all in fun, ofcourse.
