Back when I lived in Goleta I was invited to a super bowl party in a log house in a canyon off of old San Marcos rd. I biked up there...and when I got there, there was no power...I think a plane had crashed into the power lines or something. So, we all listened to the super bowl on a battery-powered radio. I think the house and most of its neighbors burned down the next year or so in the Goleta fire...about 450 houses went. It jumped highway 101 about 2 km from where it started about 15 minutes after it started.
I was not much of a fan back then...I'd watch 1/2 the superbowl and that would be about it for the year. Now, I'm into it again...go Giants!
