I can certainly concur with Chris' statements regarding the seismic reflection data used to map offshore faults. The initial measurements from reflected sound waves must be analyzed in several ways, and the nature of the seafloor is a mess, to state it briefly. There are numerous thrust/reverse faults, horse faults, poorly understood double reflections, etc. Just chiming in here with that thought...and memory of those days. EGAD...we had to use floppy disks! I would have given much for the data storage systems that we have today. However, as I recall, still comes down to interpretation. Cheers!
