politics as entertainment

This holiday season, I've been reading The Black Swan: The Impact of the Highly Improbable, and SuperCrunchers, from which one can derive the idea that the modern world is not easily understood and guided by individual voters with all their limitations and baggage. I read somewhere that the strength of our political system is that it needs only minimal guidance - blind capitalist urges take us in the direction of prosperity and contentment more effectively than in other political systems.

I try to view politics as theater of the absurd.
