Good point, Glen. The news item does address the matter of the rovers (it says they are too far from the impact zone to be directly affected). It is unclear whether they have considered the effect of stirred-up dust. My guess is that those rather intelligent folk did consider that, and concluded that the same thin atmosphere that I mentioned might preclude a problem with dust vis-a-vis the rovers' solar arrays. I know, as do you, apparently, that previous Mars dust storms have occluded the arrays' light-gathering power. But those might well have been events that had strong local effects . . .
