I heard Abbott or his co-author give a talk about the Poway clasts back in the late 80s or early 90s...and grabbed their 78(?) paper the other day so I could look at it....have it with me at my home office. I'm working on a proposal related to tectonic reconstructions etc etc of southern California margin and offshore and the Poway work is important to that because it shows that Santa Rosa Island/SW Santa Cruz Island, San Nicolas Island, and San Diego area were all covered by submarine fan system of the same river system...I think that was you, Glen, who were looking at some clasts up in the mountains?
As for the ship being holed and listing, I've seen it on the news...TV and on-line. Don't know if the ship finally sank or not.
