The dip range and slip range you give sound OK to me. I'd forgotten if the dip max for thrust was 30 or 45. The focal mechanism for Chile shows small dip on the east-dipping nodal plane and large dip on the west-dipping plane. I'm assuming the quake was on the east-dipping plane because that is more likely around an east-dipping subduction zone for a quake this large. Slips less than 70 or more than 110 would be oblique...so might be call oblique right reverse or something like that. 90 would be pure reverse (or thrust) slip or dip slip. I suppose -90 would be pure normal slip and also dip slip. At least. I'm assuming that the negative goes this way because you give positive for reverse/thrust slip. I'd have to look up the details. Probably would use Wikkipedia. Chris
