From the coastal flood statement below it sounds like the closest approach of the moon to the earth for the year is occurring about the time of full moon. ...POTENTIAL FOR MINOR COASTAL FLOODING AND BEACH EROSION STARTING WEDNESDAY... ASTRONOMICAL HIGH SPRING TIDES WILL BEGIN TO IMPACT COASTAL AREAS ON WEDNESDAY AND CONTINUE INTO NEXT WEEK. IN FACT THE TIDES ON FRIDAY ARE QUITE UNUSUAL AS THEY WILL OCCUR DURING THE CLOSEST PERIGEE OF THE YEAR...WHICH IS KNOWN AS THE PROXIGEE...AND ALSO DURING THE FULL MOON. Chris
