Really not arguing with Mike---I do understand about flame retardants. Once when we lived in Santa Barbara, was actually nearly hit with orange retardant when a fire was near our house. Also, my hubby is an ex-firefighter (among other things!)

Just noting that cool weather and moisture do generally help a lot in an existing fire situation. Where our house is right now had a huge fire fifty years ago. The scarred trees are still at the corner of our property. Humbling reminders. Of course, I also live on the slopes of a "dormant" volcano. How's that for sensible retirement??
