Elsinore Fault |
Hi Cathryn, We actually had a little creek/bump in the house when that hit. So small I did not even care to see if it was earthquake or not. That 2.9 was on Elsinore Fault, near Agua Caliente hot springs. That area has been active in the last 12 months, and did factor into my failed forecast. The faults in the forecast were the Laguna Salada, Superstitian and the Imperial Faults, southeast of the 2.9. My timing may be off, butI think that is where the next 6+ will hit. Oh....Lucy Jones was on TV last night talking about Coachella segment, SAF. In my mind, USGS is warning southern California to be prepared for a 7.9 to 8.1 eq on the segment. No timing involved, but it could rupture in the next 1 minute, or 50 years from now. She talked about the consequences for the LA basin, which would shake for 2 to 3 minutes. Not sure how they configured it, but they have this hypothetical rupture moving from south to north up the SAF. San Bernardino...Toast, gets toasted bad...
