Actually, I wasn't even thinking about the distances for the whole Pacific Rim. Was thinking more of Indonesia, and to the east, the Vanuatu Islands. I remember those sigma stress formulae...ugh. However, I still recall that there were some well blow outs mentioned many years ago, and I noted them (somewhere on the net)prior to a couple of quakes. Just idle musing.

I do believe that global stress transfer happens---just not within human observations!

I am peacefully retired on the slopes of a temporarily dormant volcano, and hoping that it doesn't do anything within human time! Now I'm the amateur!
