You don't run into those kinds of health isues with dogs.

There are plenty of health issues with dogs. Our Chica, spayed at 18 months (and the only dog in the family at the time) lived to be 17. Rosie, spayed early by her breeder, died of cancer when she was 7. It was all over inside. Nothing they could do, the vet told us. I worry most about my extant three females. We'll see what the future brings. My little boy, Paco, is Rosie's brother, so that concerns me as well.
