that's how I understand it, as well. Infra means below, so I take infrasound to be below our usual range of hearing. Acoustic emissions, at least as measured in the lab, is higher frequency. I suppose AE in nature is less well-defined, as it remain a hypothetical beast, if one is claim it differs from the usual seismic waves from earthquakes and tremor.
