Hello everyone. Been a while since I've posted. I am in the process of developing a contest where people can win real prizes by guessing where the next 3.5+ earthquake will occurr. It's not really earthquake prediction, I like to think of it more like a horserace. We select ten locations at random, and the contestants use all available resources to figure out which of these locations will be the closest to the next earthquake. I'm still refining the format and rules. The format seems a bit complicated, but it's not really. Again, it's like horseracing; There can be a lot of different strategies invloved, or it can be as easy as picking a number. I am looking for anyone who is interested in helping to brainstorm the idea. I can use help with re-writing the rules, to make them more understandable; help with looking for flaws in the format; Reviewing the points system; or any kind of feedback would be helpful. We can run a few simulations. It is more for entertainment and not so much scientific. If you want to help, you can look over the information at the link. You can leave a message there (there are open forums there if you don't want to register). BTW, the message board is brand new and there's not much activity. I havn't started promoting it yet. Thanks - Brad
