Re: Iraq (off topic)

At the risk of opening a big can of worms....just some comments from my personal point of view. Not looking for a heated debate. We're all entitled to our opinions.

When we went into Iraq, I was under the impression it was to get rid of Saddam and his potential for WMD. That no WMD was found after the invasion is moot. It was already a demonstrated fact that he had them, had used them, and was seeking more. Why we haven't found them certainly is an interesting question, but to discuss this now is not necessary to make my point.

Also, I did not expect us to go into Iraq for 3 weeks and bring everybody home. I never had any delusions that we wouldn't be there for at least several years, if not possibly for a decade or more.

Now, my point is is that I watched the same major daily news sources that everyone else did. I saw the same speeches. So why did I get a different impression than everyone else?
