I forgot to answer your question. No, I haven't felt those threes in San Jose, but I did feel the 5 they had about 18 months ago, if I'm not mistaken (which I often am).

As for your essay, I'm sure you'll get an A, as you have a facility for writing and thinking clearly and well. You are also an excellent judge of character, but that is beside the point.
