Hi Mary Jane. The one place I can think of is Alum Rock Park. The Calaveras Fault runs through there. Right off hand I can't say just exactly where it can be see. Just before you get to the park you will see a sign saying Mt. Hamilton. Take that road and you will cross over the fault. Unless they have made some major repairs in the road you should be able to see the dip in road where the fault crosses it.

If you go into the park you might be able to see some evidence of there.

There is supposed to be a subduction fault in the area just before you get into the park, but I have no idea as to its location.

If you really want to see the fault movement at its best you need to go down to the Pinnacles south of Hollister. You take highway 101 south to highway 25 then south through Hollister. It's about a 2 hour drive from San Jose. A volcano near Lancaster in Southern Calif. about 6my ago formed the Pinnacles. It is part of block that has been carried north. Take Care…Don in creepy town.
