Agreed that it cannot be chance if your calculations are correct, but I suspect your calculations are incorrect. In your sliding window study several months ago, I thought you stated that you didn't find any windows that significantly beat chance. Can you repeat that test by taking random windows each year and see if the optimum window corresponds with Mike's method?
