Well, research life continues to be discouraging: got 2 proposal rejected last 2 weeks...one as lead....to NSF Earth Science. I was told that less than 10% of proposals were funded...may be an all-time low. It would be worse but I imagine some people have given up: If you are funded 10% of time you have to put in so much time writing proposals that it is not worth it. In reality, some people will never get funded because they can't write excellent proposals, and others will do better.
While I'm B#itching and moaning...I copied all my passwords and logins to a new notebook...it took like an hour...2 pages...its getting hard to just keep track of files. I am really need to get some papers on Palos Verdes area submitted but just cannot find the time (given that I am only willing to work a certain number of hours a week).
