Jim Kennett, Luann Beckker etc finally are having their special sessions on evidence for impact at 12,900 years BP that helped drive the Mammoths etc to extinction, and trigged the younger Dryas cold period that reversed the deglaciation for a while (although the impact first caused a collapse of the ice sheets. One of the abstracts (at least) is on the Carolina Bays....500,000 depressions long hypothesized to be due to impact but now there is more solid evidence. Jim told us all this stuff last June or so but I had to wait until it was publicly available to post it. I'll read some more of the 22 or so abstracts now. This is wildly controversial etc and very interesting: I suggest you read some of these.
