CANIE:I find it really, really hard to believe that what is being taught today in college is 'old' history - the 'history' still happened - the continents are moving and coming together, subducting and diverging - that all still happened over the course of 4.6 Billion years to form our current state of the continents.

BOB:In logic....*not* computer logic or binary... the proof is on the negative....so essentially you win. The object would be for me to disprove what you say. Not an easy task. With enough positive facts I can claim most anything and the proof must come from the negative....Its a simple rule of philisophical logic....

Now having said that.....I have no personal knowledge of what happened millions of years ago....so if you say it happened, then I must disprove it....and I am unlikely to do that--- but another suggestion as to what happened, such as Dennis' ideas is another positive statement. I have the option to believe which I do. If a concensus believe the secondary or any alternative or option thereafter, then the proof is still on the negative.

Science roots are in philosophy...only some philosophers tend toward the hypothetical... and that reminds me that "divide and conquer" works better than hubris and concensus. This is the door which lets scoundrels in! Watch out for anyone asking for denaro eh?:-) 'Specially if they claim to know "the truth".
