Just thought I would mention that not everybody posting predictions out here are using the means that a sensitive uses. Some are sensitive, others watch data from various USGS sensors, others watch for patterns, and others (including myself) use devices. This might be a good question for Roger since I've never really heard any reasons for this. Since various anamolies are known to occur prior to earthquakes, why aren't all of the anomolies being monitored? One reason I hear as that they don't occur prior to all quakes. Okay, but just becuase it doesn't occur for all quakes doesn't mean that it shouldn't be monitored. Are there other non-monetary reasons? One other reason that I can think of is this scenario for Radon. The amounts released may vary from quake to quake. For instance the amount released for an M5 might be more then was released for an M8. So in that sense it wasn't reliable in determining whether or not the quake would be a damaging quake. But then there might be reasons for that because of the geological conditions existing underground. Just some thoughts.
