Well...I did agree on not calling a 4.2 on the other side of the world as not being a hit for a prediction of an 6.5 in L.A. :-)

But you're right that there is no way to tell at this early stage as to whether or not there is a one for one relationship between precursors and seismic waves. It would eventually need to be worked out though.
