Canie, Thanks for the link. Some questions have been answered while raised others. According to this link, the city of Malibu is saying the Santa Monica Fault Zone is inactive. That is a relief (although I'm not certain they are right! :) ) Now for another food for thought. If you go into that link, there is a paragraph halfway down where it says, something about how scientists feel that in the foreseeable future that LA will be rocked by at leasat one, maybe more 5.0+ quake a year! Correct me if I'm wrong, but as I see it, LA has not had a 5.0+ quake since the Northridge activity. I don't know what the reports source is, or if they mean the LA area can be anything from Malibu to San Diego to Vegas (which would be possible then for 5+ a year quake) but assuming they mean the basin/valley, this seems a little messed up. This goes back to the quake deficit question I had a couple of weeks ago, maybe there is a deficit and the scientists feel a 5+ a year for LA is appropriate. Anyway....interesting link, got me thinking. Thanks again.
