Perl can be expanded so that it includes a type of $Inkey command. The command version I am using is a little incovenient as both Perl and Windows detect the key at the same time. And certain additional steps have to be used to keep Windows from getting confused. I would rather Perl just disconnected Windows when it is waiting for a keystroke. And I believe that it can do that. I just don't presently know how it is done.

Perl has a SendKey type command which will send any type of information you wish to Windows as if you typed it in yourself. I use it to automatially and quicly run one program, collect the data, stop the program, start another program, and feed it the data from the first program etc. Some of my programs will run only if they are fed information from the keyboard. So that SendKey command is quite important.
