Back on the 12th of March, USA Today had published a report about the level of preparedness in California. Fred Turner, a California safety inspector, said that not nearly enough was being done here in California and that almost half of the 25000 brick buildings haven't been retrofitted since a 1992 law requiring strategies making them safer. He also said that few of California's concrete buildings built between 1920 and 1970 have been retrofitted. These include warehouses, offices, apartments and parking garages.

Maybe we need a law that would cause a sign to be posted on all buildings that have not been retrofitted.
