I had the cover off my PC and wanted to turn it on so I used a screwdriver to press the pushbutton. The blade touched the metal case, there was a loud POP and bright blue flash and everything went dead.

I had visions of fried motherboards, dead memory chips, toasted hard drives, etc. But all it killed was the power supply. I had another just like it and was back up in a few minutes.
