You're right, of course. But crashes come just before you remember to do that.

I keep my important stuff on separate partitions. C: has Windows and whatever insists on being there. D: has Windows programs and E: is all my DOS stuff. But time before last, I lost all 3. My CDs had most of it but not ALL of it.
