interesting page in the Kuril M8s

The link is to an interesting science page on the Kurils quakes...comparing the two M8s the last few months. Perhaps the most interesting of several figures would be the bottom figure, showing seismicity 6 to 7 weeks before the main shock (the first M8, the subduction thrust event). The subduction zone where the hypocenter of that quake was going to be was pretty lit up. Someone very interested in these things who was either funded for this sort of thing or had some time on his/her hands might want to animate seismicity for various subduction zones for the months before great quakes....and also compare this to the same zones in periods say 10 years before these quakes. I suppose it would not have to be animated, it could be just maps and graphs of seismicity for 1 week intervals...but then that would be a lot of maps and graphs to digest.
