Look, we start out with some long time period, 1973 - 2000 for example. We have a window of some particular size, 8 days for example. We divide the time into 8 day windows and find 365.25*28/8 windows. That's 1278.375 windows. Now you want to slide those windows forward in 1 second increments stopping when you reach the end of the time span. So we increment 259,200 times until we reach the end of the time period.

Well, suppose the time divides evenly into x whole windows; then what? If you slide anyway you'll have a smaller and smaller window at the end.

This makes no sense. Forget it, You're introducing more errors than you're solving.
