Thanks Chris! Interesting, and relevant, but I'm going to take the bold (for an amateur) step of predicting that nothing much will come of it. For reasons I've already provided.

As to "what the press did with Keilis-Borok's Mojave Prediction," my memory is not that clear, but I don't seem to recall the press over-stating it. Though headlines may well have been misleading, the typical article did contain appropriate caveats and pointed out the experimental nature of the prediction, the wide area involved, the paucity of population there, and etc.
