Got the email below today: Our first Dare to Prepare Lecture: USGS Public Lecture Series presents "Learning from the Past, Preparing for the Future: Earthquakes in Southern California" by Dr. Lucy Jones, U.S. Geological Survey What: USGS Public Lecture Series When: January 17th, 2007 at 7pm Where: Sexson Auditorium, Pasadena City College Topic: To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the magnitude 7.9 January 9, 1857 Fort Tejon earthquake on the San Andreas fault, the last great earthquake to strike southern California. Dr. Jones will explore the history of great earthquakes on the San Andreas fault, the expected future earthquakes on that fault, and what this means for southern California today.
This lecture is free and begins at 7 PM in Sexson Auditorium at Pasadena City College in Pasadena. There is plenty of free parking available in Lots 7 and 8.
