Thanks for your diplomatic response, Crhis, but Timothy's mechanism for generating the quakes was not anything like what has been proposed and, for the most part, agreed upon by professionals in the field. Rather than increased pore pressure at depth, or lubrication of fault surfaces, he proposes some sort of "phase change" of cooled magma. I'm pretty sure this could not be the source of the microquakes that are being detected. It is not even clear, to me, that the used, injected water is likely to actually penetrate to depths where there is actual magma, and, also, I would not think that the amount of water injected by the power plants is even that large in comparison to existing reservoirs of ground water. I've asked for a reference, and none has been forthcoming. Just seems that such claims, from an amateur, should either be referenced or be couched in less certain terms.
