| Coalinga M4.3 and 3.9 conflicting focal mechanisms |
Both the M3.9 and the 4.3 have completely different focal mecanisms between "NCSN First Motion Mechanism 1" and ".....2". They may modify these so by the time you check the link, may have changed, but now the 3.9 is either thrust or strike slip, and the 4.3 is either oblique normal or oblique thrust. I wonder why? Quakes this size in that area should be well-recorded. Maybe complex faults? Computers run amok? Roger or John? |
