Far field aftershocks

Cathryn....wording a bit unclear on "one from the Kuril Islands went right through the Bay Area"...be more specific. But, since Landers 1992, most people interested in earthquakes have to believe in Far field aftershocks. I also was influenced by Lowell Whiteside before then...he was doing lots of statistical analysis of triggering /other relations. (Lowell told me about this site and I've been here since). But, depends what you mean by Far field aftershocks...if you mean that they occur on the rings, I probably don't believe in them after Roger's analyses and John V.'s comments.
