What I've been busy working on....

Well, here's a update on what I've been doing (in between working 50 hours a week at my day job) that's kept me mostly a lurker of late.

I have been working on my own analysis of Berkland's predictions. This was instigated by the controversy over Roger Hunter's article recently published in Skeptical Inquirer.

The difficulty is not so much in the concept as it is in the implementation. It may seem like a simple idea - find all the quakes that fit the windows. But just counting hit's is the trivial part. Computing the probabilities is the real meat of the meal.

Most of the effort has been split between increasing program speed and verifying program accuracy. I'm testing against three different quake catalogs.

It's probably going to be a few weeks before I even begin to think about discussing results, though. Since I have a day job, I only get to work on this an hour or two here and there.
