"My goal with EEC and by continuing to come to this site is to discuss earthquakes, prediction and preparedness--not job status or health woes."

I don't mean to sound like a smart ass, but I feel compelled to ask, "why did you bring it up, then?"

I was only responding to your statements. I was trying to direct the discussion to toward only the methods used to determine if an idea has merit or not. But you seemed to want to talk about

I'll admit, there was room for me to be more civil in my posts. However, I was far more civil than some others which was tolerated. This is really what irked me more than anything - that on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being most civil, that my incivility of 2's and 3's got me kicked off, but another's 7's and 8's were tolerated.

But, since it now appears that that issue has been addressed, I will reconsider rejoining EEC.

BTW, it's not possible to discuss opposing points of view without offending the other side to some degree. But, since these are written forums, there's nothing that says you MUST read a particular persons posts.

Cal, if I ever say anything that makes you mad, just skip it. If you feel you need to respond, do what I do and wait a day before responding. I find that after waiting, the blood has stopped boiling and I'm able to write a much more coherent (and civil) response than if I had responded immediately with an emotionally charged post.
