I dug a bit deeper into Bilhams web page and found this interesting data on the Durmid Hills creepmeters near the Salton Sea. These also show episodic high rates of creep. I always assumed that creep was more linear. These are rather abrupt. Like the Superstition Hills Fault, this section of SAF is a demarcation between pliocene/quaternary sediments and the alluvial infill. I'll study these some more.
