Re: Maybe Why Some People Sense Earthquakes Before They Occur

Hello Don: I haven't been able to find the full article for the link you posted, but I am astonished that the BSSA printed it because the abstract indicates that the research is based on the speculation that there MAY be a link of anomalous animal behaviour to earthquakes; the rest of the research is meaningless and a waste of time if the hypothesized link fails to materialize. Why would he not set out to prove the animal-earthquake link first? My guess is that he tried and couldn't find the link, if there is one. Why would BSSA even print the report without first requiring the link to be established? Who knows, but my guess is that it is further evidence of the trend toward the unknown that threatens to drown our society in pseudoscience. I'll wager that the next couple of issues of the BSSA will be filled with letters from outraged scientists who object to the bulletin publishing the report. If anyone has access to the full report or knows where to find it on the web, could they please post it? Thanks, Don
