Indeed. Nevertheless the journey toward truth brings it's own reward, and there is a kind of fatal heroism in those who yield to their fate as casually as a moth is drawn to a flame. The flaw in nature's plan is that mankind evolved in intelligence far beyond that which is necessary for his survival, until he finally became the first and only species able to conceptualize his ultimate doom. The bitter irony is that those who chose the path of truth will be denied the ultimate proof of their most noble theory--that of human mortality.
