Hmm. Now, dib, I might consider taking you in as a stray. Do you fetch the paper in the morning? It seems we are locked (albietly rather intelligently) in the eons-old science vs. faith debate. (I won't even place it in the context of religion which is variable and another thing althogether.) As an ex-athiest (surprised?), I propose a middle ground that excludes neither science nor faith, but rather considers the two as inextricably linked and mutually compatible. Just because we are limited to five or six senses, doesn't mean that there aren't phenomena that exist well beyond our capacity to perceive and/or measure them. Were my Sylmar Quake my only paranormal experience, then yes, I would write it up to coincidence. But that's not the case; I've had many such experiences. So you see, I should indeed be classified as loonus majoris. As an aside, I must add that my ability to focus on physics in college was compromised by my overwhelming fear of aftershocks. I was (shall we say) a bit rattled. I will also offer up that my older son is now finishing up a degree in physics at the University of Oregon. So, though my physics be weak, perhaps my genes will redeem me such that you will want to come fetch my morning paper after all.
