tuned in, tuned out

Considering the small amount of our brains capability that we actually use, it would be best to keep an open mind on this subject. We are still evolving.

Here in Taiwan, the M7.6 of 9/21/99 was my first experience with a large earthquake. Immediately after, I could sense even the most minute vibration from the earth. There was plenty of it too.

Meanwhile, often my friends who grew up here could not feel a thing.

Always having a water bottle on my desk, it was obvious that what I was feeling was
accurate.

Even though this has nothing to do with magnetite, the intention is to show an example of simply tuning in, or tuning out. My friends who grew up here seem to have tuned out, while I have tuned in out of fear and desperation. It was not likely a concious thought in either case.

Could it be through some traumatic experience that others have tuned in to other sensations that may have been there all along?
