You know, I read that about EQ's and whales/dolphins, but I can't find anything on the net to use as a reference.

We had a dolphin wash up on shore off NJ over the weekend and died in transit. Intresting there was an EQ off the northern coast of Brazil the day prior to it's washing up, and another one three days prior near the Dominican Republic. Wondering if this dolphin had possibly been near any of these and possibly sustained organ damage that might be like lithotripsy (using sound waves to break up kidney stones) injuries, I called the facility where the dolphin was taken to, of course they couldn't discuss the case (Maybe because the next of kin hadn't been notified yet :) ), but reacted to me like I was some kind of whack-job, suggesting that an EQ could have caused injuries to a dolphin (They never did call me back). I know I have noticed a lot lately when I read about whales/dolphins beaching themselves I often find there was an EQ in the area within hours or days of the incident. Granted NJ & Brazil are quite far, but it would have been intresting to find out if that dolphins stomach contents contained fish from the florida area, maybe giving more sustanance to whether the dolphin had actually been in the area. I was wondering if maybe this dolphin was caught near the Dominican Rep EQ, and swam away only to swim
into the one near Brazil, and then started swimming, hurt and confused and wound up in NJ.

If anyone knows of any books or URL's pretaining to EQ and dolphin/whales, I'd be very intrested in reading about it, might be enough to find out more info on the case over the weekend.

I'll be following up tomorrow or Friday, maybe by then the facility may have contacted the dolphins pod and given them the bad news and might actually discuss somethings with me.

George
