Hey Don:

Thanks for the wealth of information regarding creep/strain meters. Sounds like all monitoring is done near the surface of a fault hence we really don't know whats going on at depth. That project to drill into the San Andreas ought to be interesting in that respect.

As far as Hayward moving in two directions, my only guess would be RAIN ;) flooding the instrument. Hmmmm, I can't imagine why it would do that assuming no instrument error. Any theories?
