My idea about rain and quakes is based on two things. One that quakes have been known to cause an increase in the magnetic field and that two, water (if my source is correct) is diamagnetic meaning that it is repelled by a magnetic field. Sometimes we get rain prior to quakes and sometimes we don't and I think this has to do with the strength of the magnetic field and the strength of the storm where one overpowers the other. Since I've been watching this, there have been several instances where forecasters had called for rain by a certain time, the rain didn't come and forecasters changed their mind saying it wouldn't come, the quake occurred, the rain came in several hours after, and the forecasters were embarrased.

On tha baseball side of things, I've got my 7 (soon to be 8) year old going to the Canyon Country Little League. He played there last year and I thought I would try Hart this year but didn't find out about the dates for sign-up until after it was to late.

Hart has a web site explaining everything. The URL is: http://www.hartbaseball.org/

For the Canyon Country Little League, they have leagues for boys and girls ages 5 to 14. My 7 year old played in the 7 year old rookies last year where they use a pitching machine. This year he's playing "A" ball which is the step in between rookie and actual league play and subsequent playoffs.

Found out that one of the kids on my sons baseball team lives close to Saugus High as well.

Hart is really competitive and people really get into there baseball there. Teams practice twice a week and have batting practice once a week. CCLL has practice once a week and an occasional batting practice (I guess its really up to the parents where I do take my son to batting practice once a week).

So this week David, my son, had basketball practice thursday, baseball practice friday, and today he's got a basketball game. Basketball finishes 3/17 so we'll be pretty busy with sports till then. Basketball is with parks and rec.

Also in the next few weeks, it'll be time to get David signed up for the Warriors tackle football program. He's already had 2 years of playing flag with parks and rec. I may have a hard time getting him on the team as he is pretty big for his age where they have a 100 lbs weight limit for 8 year olds. He's 4'11" and 94 lbs already.
