Look at Natural Hazards Canada website. The 5.8 reported on Jan 10th is listed as 5.8 on both the Canadian lists and international (USGS, N.E.I.C. Arcdata online, others.) That info is correct. Also establishes same magnitude scale being used. Then the subsequent events over 5m (also on all international lists) Show no events over 5m after the 10th, but a 4.6m 01 23 01, at 09:39 utc. Others list this eq at 5.2m then the next quake listed as 4.8 same day @ 14:43 when It was a 5.0m.There were two other quakes well over four mag not even listed and on the current map of the swarm off the coast shows no eq's over 5 indicated by stars as they SHOULD be and the earthquake they did give a star to (5.8m) has scrolled off the map now which shows activity from the 11th to the 30th (how convenient). The new map does show a scary looking cluster pattern but no quakes over 5 with the big red stars. Not to mention a rare 5 day gap in reporting after the 5'S. I don't know how to post links but if someone could explain... Natural Hazards Canada, Recent Earthquake Activity. More evidence as well...mb.
