All I was saying Martin is that I found those quakes on multiple Canadian lists therefore no conspiracy exists.

- and If I KNEW what was 200km west of Pt Hardy I wouldn't be asking - It sure looked like volcanic activity to me and not a subduction quake (too shallow) - I'm not as intimately familiar with that area as you seem to be. When I see swarms of quakes in our neck of the woods it is generally geothermal fluids or aftershock activity of a very large quake.

So are you saying that where those quakes are occuring is the spreading ridge that is offshore? (It looks to be in the middle of the plate)

If I were in your neck of the woods the quakes I might be concerned about are not the shallow events - I also have just recalled that I read somewhere where the large subduction quakes (like the expected cascadia event) are not preceeded by foreshocks.
