From the NEIC listing of the quake, they show that 1500-2000 people died in that June 16, 1819 quake in the same general area.

They probably didn't have near the population then either.

Maybe another coincidence, but this quake followed another 3 days of reduced electron flux. It is also probably what I picked up on back on Sunday. My secondaries have been completely quiet all week long.
