I've always been fascinated with ants invading homes and have wanted to get ahold of data from various exterminators to do a little research but have never really had the time.

Beside that little raiding party on the 13th we did have another one on the 11th that I failed to mention.

The last time we had ant problems was before and during the Fillmore swarm a few months back. And its always the same thing, they are raiding what ever food that they can find and they are in the hundreds and thousands. It doesn't happen in all locations around where a quake will occur leaving me to think that whatever (if it is) is bothering the ants is somehow directional. It happened before the Northridge, Ridgecrest, and Hector quakes (Northridge and Ridgecrest at my location). There are lots of other times that we leave food out and nothing happens. Maybe its coincidence. Maybe it isn't. Its still something interesting to watch.

I wonder if the Bee guy at Caltech might have an insight to this?

Dennis
